Young Eagles demonstration rides last approximately 10 to 15 minutes, and are provided free of charge to children 8 to 17 years of age to provide a meaningful flight experience in a General Aviation aircraft.
A parent or guardian must accompany the child to the airport to be eligible.
These flights are provided courtesy of local EAA members. Additional information on this program can be found at www.YoungEagles.org
Through the generous volunteer efforts of local EAA pilots at the 2015 Fly-In, 157 children were provided demonstration rides under the Young Eagles Program. The process involved:
1) Registering your child at one of the available laptop computers at the event. 2) Waiting to be boarded on an aircraft for their flight.
To eliminate your time waiting to register at the event, you may Pre-Register on this link.
Weather permitting, rides will begin at approximately 8:30am.
If rider turnout is high, you may spend some time waiting.
Please understand that these rides are provided by local pilots donating their time, aircraft use, and fuel; every attempt will be made to provide every qualified child a ride at the event.
If you missed the Fly-In last year, the photos below should help motivate you to be there for the next Forest Lake Airport Fly-In on August 20, 2016.
